I and others at our company endured years of gaslighting and lying from our boss. I’d had enough. I told him in a professional manner how hurtful this was, to me, to others, and to the company. He acted contrite and said he appreciated the candor. He even confessed he had a lot of personal flaws to work on. Two weeks later, his bullshit lunacy went into overdrive at the company Zoom meetings. He sat in his chair like a bedeviled little boy and cackled as he insulted employees with sexist and borderline racist taunts. He wore his privilege like a Klan hood. That’s when I knew I had to get out of there.
